
Catherine Jane Ford was born on 5th December 1969. She is an English comic and actress. Her performance in The Catherine Tate Show, which is a BBC sketch comedy series has won her numerous accolades. She was also nominated for seven BAFTAs as well as an International Emmy Award. Tate was Donna Noble in the 2006 Christmas special of Doctor Who, and later was cast in the same role as the Tenth Doctor's regular companion in the fourth series in 2008. [2] Following The Catherine Tate Show's success, Tate played Joanie Taylor ("Nan") in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015), and in The Nan Movie (2022). In 2011, she was introduced to an ongoing role as Nellie Bertram on The Office, the U.S. version of The Office, and was a regular character until the show was cancelled. [3] She played the role of Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School. Tate played six roles in Hard Cell, the Netflix comedy series she co-wrote as well as co-directed.
